It has been 6 months in the making, but Release 6.0 of Process MeNtOR and Version 2.0 of TeamGuide have been released. We are now in the process of rolling it out to our existing customers and the feedback is very exciting. Some of the key features of version 2 are:
Process Authoring
A new process authoring tool called RAPTOR will enable Enterprise customers to create their own Activities and Roadmaps and add their own templates. Once published, their new content will be displayed with the Process MeNtOR guidance and also be available to the TeamGuide Wizards.
Roadmaps are no longer confined to the Software Development Process. You can now add your own Roadmaps for your general business projects, for example, launching a new product.
ASP.NET website for the Process Guidance
To support Process Authoring, the guidance is now served dynamically using ASP.NET. Whilst we have lost the ability to run everything from a CD, the positive is the ability to easily change the look and feel. Adding your logos and changing a Cascading Style Sheet will allow MeNtOR to take on your corporate look and feel. Combined with the ability to add your own content, this transforms the Process MeNtOR into a Process Asset Library you can use to build your own process.
Accelerator for MS Project
Team Foundation Server and TeamGuide provided the first enactment platform for Process MeNtOR. For those customers who do not use TFS, we have built a set of wizards to generate MS Project schedules from the Activities and Tasks inside Process MeNtOR. You select your roadmap then choose the tasks you want, and the schedule will be generated for you, including links from the tasks back to the original guidance.
